Asiatic Lion Facts

Asiatic Lion, also known as the Indian Lion, is found only in the Gir National Park of India. The scientific name of the lion is Panthera Leo persica. Asiatic lions are generally known to move around in groups, known as 'Prides'. There can be upto three males in a pride, however; only one amongst them dominates the group. The male members of a pride do not take part in hunting unless and until the prey is very strong or aggressive. Most of the hunting is done by the female members.
